What information do we collect, and why?

The only information we collect is the information that you provide, freely and knowingly.

We use the information you provide for three purposes:

• To ensure that you get the best pricing for the insurance you have specifically requested
• To ensure that we keep you informed about your insurance requests, other issues that may affect the site, and personalised updates
• To allow you, if you wish to, to vote on what services you would like us to introduce (you are under no obligation to vote on these issues)

What do we do with the information you provide?

We only share information with those who need to know. When we do share information, we only share the minimum possible to allow them to do their jobs. So, for example, if you are requesting car insurance, then we will share the details of your car, the drivers (but see below about personal information) and your insurance requirements - we will share this information only with those providers who we have authorised to provide car insurance.

The key personal information - your name, address and phone numbers will only be passed on to the provider that you choose, once you click accept. Until then, for bidding purposes people see you by a code letter and postcode, so you might appear as Mr. M of RH10 7JD.

We NEVER sell information about you on to third parties.

How do we ensure that our policies are followed?

We only accept companies who are registered with the FSA as Insurance providers on our system.

If we engage a third party to provide a service you have requested, we will only provide them with the minimum information required to do so, and ensure that they have policies in place to ensure they do nothing more with that information.

All our servers are located in the UK, as are the third parties we engage to run our IT systems, so you have the security of knowing that those companies, too, are covered by UK privacy law.
